This project proposes an extension to the existing cemetery of Santa Cecília de Voltregà by adding two complementary spaces: an introspection area for solitude and reflection, and a non-denominational ceremony space for gatherings and farewells.

The new building is designed to integrate with the cemetery’s existing fabric. Its geometry is derived from the continuation of the lines established by the niches and the current circulation paths, so its proportions and alignment remain closely related to the surrounding architecture.

The ceremony space is located at street level, with direct access from within the cemetery. It is conceived as an enclosed room without exterior views, where daylight filters in through the roof trusses that support the sloping cover, creating a calm and focused atmosphere. In contrast, the introspection space sits on a lower level and is reached by a ramp descending from the cemetery. It opens toward the landscape, framed as a walkway with a series of partitions that create small, private areas for families or individuals.
